Light Rain Showers Expected In Santa Clarita Weather Forecast

A chance of light rain is in the Santa Clarita weather forecast through Friday morning.

Beginning early Friday morning, rain is expected for the Santa Clarita Valley, said Joe Sirard, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

“We have a weather system moving in tonight that will be giving us a chance of rain,” Sirard said.

Around midnight there is a 30 percent chance of rain then increasing to a 50 percent chance later in the morning, according to officials.

“Not a lot of rainfall is expected, probably a 10th of an inch,” Sirard said.

The upcoming storm is expected to be a warm system resulting in no chance of snow in the Grapevine, according to officials.

Following Friday’s storm, there is no more rain in the forecast, according to Sirard.

Weekend temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s during the day and low 50s in the evening, according to officials.

By Monday winds are expected to pick up bringing 30 to 35 mph gusts across the Santa Clarita Valley, according to Sirard.

These winds are not Santa Anas, however, could pose danger if a fire were to break out, according to officials.
