GoFundMe Launched For Hospitalized Owner Of Bob’s Country Meats Butcher Shop

A GoFundMe has been started to help support the owner of Bob’s Country Meats, who was hospitalized recently due to an infection.

The locally-owned butcher shop was forced to temporarily close its doors recently, while owner Keith Mowry has been confined to his hospital bed in the face of a serious infection, according to the GoFundMe started by his son.

“When visiting the store we were all greeted with a familiar welcoming smile or a joke from Keith,” said Francis Mowry. “He made Bob’s Country Meats a community staple for over 30 years and considered his loyal customers his friends. We were all saddened to temporarily close its doors.”

According to his son, Keith was admitted to the hospital on Sept. 22 with a severely infected gallbladder, which then caused his kidneys and liver to fail.

“Fortunately, the infection and kidneys have improved, but his liver continues to deteriorate,” his son wrote. “While we are trying to remain hopeful for a full recovery, if and when our father leaves the hospital it will be a long time before he is healthy again.”

The fund was created to help pay for medical bills and provide income during Mowry’s recovery.

“We see and hear all the kind messages, and appreciate everything the community has done for our family,” wrote Francis.
