SCV Chamber’s Latino Business Alliance To Host ‘Latino Leaders In Politics’ Forum

The Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce has announced an elected officials forum celebrating and reflecting local representation with ‘Latino Leaders in Politics’.

Hosted by the Latino Business Alliance, the forum is set to feature three main speakers, elected officials from the city, state and federal levels, according to officials.

This event is celebrating the first time that the Santa Clarita Valley has had Latino representation at all three levels at the same time, and the first time that Santa Clarita has had a Latino mayor, according to the event coordinators.

The event is structured to include an opportunity for each representative to give an update on what is occurring in their office, provide some insight on future plans and then have an opportunity for open discussion and questions with the audience, according to the officials.

The local politicians scheduled to appear are Santa Clarita City Mayor Bill Miranda, Assemblywoman Suzette Valladares and Congressman Mike Garcia.

“We’re very proud of our Latino community and to see elected representation on all levels of government come from Latino leaders. With our voice being heard now on multiple fronts, we are very excited to host our representatives and have the opportunity to discuss policy matters that are not just important for our business community as a whole, but for our Latino business community,” stated Elizabeth Seelman, 2021 chair for the SCV Chamber Latino Business Alliance.

The forum is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 20, at 4 p.m. To receive the address, you must first RSVP.
