Family Of Santa Clarita Murder Victim Michelle Dorsey Receives New Vehicle

The family of Santa Clarita murder victim Michelle Dorsey received a brand new vehicle from Antelope Valley Chevrolet Tuesday afternoon thanks to the outpouring of support from the community.

Through the combined efforts of community partners, including Antelope Valley Chevrolet and local non-profit Santa Clarita Coalition, Dorsey’s sister Jessica Jordan was presented a new Chevrolet Suburban to help assist in the care of Dorsey’s children.

“I’m blown away, I’m in such shock right now that it’s actually happening, I’m just so thankful that all of us are going to be able to travel places without having to go into two separate cars, this is a big deal for our family,” Jordan said. “We have six children in the house, nine people total. We’ve grown a lot in the last month and a half.”

Early in the morning of April 15, 2021, Michelle Dorsey was murdered by her estranged husband in her own home.

Dorsey’s three children are now in the care of their grandmother, who is working alongside their aunts and uncles to ensure that the boys have a loving home and support system while they attempt to recover from tragedy. One part of that is obtaining a new vehicle that can transport the whole family, as well as having additional room for errands or extracurriculars.

“It is more than our pleasure to participate in helping Ms. Jordan with the proper transportation she needs,” said Justin Gonzales, Dealer Principal for Antelope Valley Chevrolet in a previous KHTS story. “ Ms. Jordan is a hero in our eyes for taking care of these kids from this tragedy.”

Dorsey’s family was joined on air by Santa Clarita elected representatives, including Senator Scott Wilk, as well as representatives from the offices of California State Assembly Member Suzette Martinez Valladares and Congressman Mike Garcia.

“I feel like everything has surprised me about the amount of support that we are getting, it is absolutely incredible and I didn’t even know that the community would come together in such a way that is so powerful until something like this,” Jordan, said. “It makes me want to pay it forward also when we have the opportunity.”

The only way that the Santa Clarita Coalition and Antelope Valley Chevrolet were able to make the dream of bringing home a new vehicle to Michelle Dorsey’s family was through the help of dozens of selfless members of the community, including:
