A Santa Clarita man was arrested Monday on child endangerment charges after he was allegedly in possession of drugs for sale while accompanied by a toddler.
On Monday around 4:15 p.m., deputies made contact with an individual that was reportedly in possession of narcotics for sale, said Sgt. Brian Shreves, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.
“He was in possession of marijuana and mushrooms for sale and was conducting the sales with his 2-year-old child,” Shreves said.
Due to the ongoing investigation Sheriff’s officials are not able to release any additional information into the arrest of the individual, Shreves said.
Noel Ortega, 27, from Castaic was arrested on felony charges of being in possession of narcotics for sale and child endangerment, Shreves said.
Ortega was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.
