Near triple-digit temperatures are expected for the Santa Clarita weather forecast by the end of the week bringing elevated fire conditions.
Starting Wednesday a “noticeable” heating trend is expected to start lasting through the end of the week, said Rich Thompson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Wednesday into Thursday temperatures are forecasted to be in the low to mid-80s, according to Thompson.
By Friday, conditions are expected to peak with temperatures reaching around 97 degrees, according to officials.
“Normal temperatures for this time of year are around 76 or 77 degrees,” Thompson said. “It’s definitely going to be warmer than normal.”
Parts of the Santa Clarita Valley are also expected to see north to northeast Santa Ana winds with gust up to 20 to 25 mph, with humidity levels flirting with single digits, according to Thompson.
As of Tuesday, no fire watches or warnings are in place, however, fire danger is elevated, according to Thompson.
These near triple-digit temperatures come on the heels of Santa Clarita receiving scattered showers, according to Thomson.
“Saturday into next week there will be a noticeable cooling trend,” Thompson said.
