The holiday season is approaching fast, with Hanukkah upon us, Christmas right around the corner and Kwanza right after that. Make sure your gifts reach their destinations on time with recommended shipping deadlines from major carriers.
In the face of alleged gas shortages, arguably constraining inflation and other factors, making sure all of Santa’s gifts can safely arrive before Christmas morning has become a challenge. With this in mind, major carriers across the country have announced shipping deadlines for the lower-48 states, military, Alaska and Hawaii, including Santa Clarita and more.
FedEx
Unfortunately, the deadline for Economy class shipping has passed, but with other ground and freight options, FedEx elves can ensure safe delivery by Christmas Eve if dropped off by Dec. 15. If you have the means to use FedEx Same Day service, a pricy extension, you could drop off your package anywhere between Dec. 21-23 and have it on your loved ones’ doorstep by Dec. 24.
USPS
The final cutoff date for Retail Ground Service is Dec. 15. If your pockets are a little bigger and timespan a little longer, First Class Service has a deadline of Dec. 17 for the U.S. lower-48 states. If Santa Clarita residents find themselves with one last gift after that date, the Priority Mail Service gives you until Dec. 18 and Priority Mail Express gives you all the way to Dec. 23.
Military mail and international packages had a First Class Service due date of Dec. 9, but can still reach their destination in time if shipped under Priority Mail Express Military Service by Dec. 16 or internationally for more expensive options by the 13th, according to officials.
UPS
UPS has a blanket-answer, as each location is set to be different, they recommend checking with your nearest location for the most accurate estimation possible. Like the previously mentioned carriers, there is a pocket-emptying three-day delivery option for all the procrastinators out there. The hard deadline for UPS 3 Day Select is Dec. 21. The absolute latest option, UPS Next Day Air, is scheduled to get your package delivered on Christmas Eve if sent by Dec. 23.
