Smash and grab burglaries have expanded to Santa Clarita with Undisputed Sole at the local mall being the most recent victim early Thursday.
Just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday, a smash and grab at Undisputed Sole at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall was reported, said Sgt. Brian Shreves, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Detective Bureau.
“Management is telling us about $40,000 in merchandise was stolen,” Shreves said.
At least three suspects shattered the front door to gain entry to the business, however it is unknown what was used to break the glass, according to Sheriff’s officials.
As of Friday, a detective is working to gather surveillance footage to determine how many suspects there were and if there were any get-away-drivers, according to Shreves.
The business was forced to close temporarily Thursday due to the burglary.
