A Santa Clarita woman was arrested on charges of elder abuse after she allegedly physically assaulted her 73-year-old mother last week.
Around 10 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the 16200 block of Vasquez Canyon Road in Canyon Country regarding an elder abuse report call, said Deputy Natalie arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Upon arrival, deputies learned during a verbal argument, the 73-year-old victim was physically assaulted by her daughter,” Arriaga said.
The victim sustained minor injury.
Meredith Marcus, 45, from Canyon Country, was arrested for felony elder abuse, Arriaga added.
Marcus was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $50,000, according to arrest records.
