Firefighters extinguished a small spot fire in the parking lot of the Lyons Station Shopping Plaza in Newhall after a woman stripped her clothing and lit the items on fire Tuesday morning.
Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of a spot fire on the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue in front the Lyons Station Shopping Plaza in Newhall, according to Henry Narvaez, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“The initial call went out as a fire and was later changed to a medical emergency in front of a bank,” Narvaez said.
Witnesses described seeing the woman remove her clothing before lighting the garments on fire, according to officials on scene.
Firefighters extinguished the small spot fire within minutes of arriving on scene, according to Fire officials.
The extent of any injuries sustained has not been made available as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.
