A Santa Clarita vandalism suspect damaged a storefront in Old Town Newhall early Tuesday morning.
About 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, security cameras on the 24300 block of Main Street recorded footage of a vandalism suspect damaging a storefront belonging to KHTS Radio.
The suspect, a Hispanic male in his 50s, walked down the sidewalk before throwing a large rock at the storefront, causing the stone to break apart, before throwing one of the pieces at the storefront again.
The suspect left the scene on foot, and security footage soon after shows a vehicle belonging to the suspect driving away from the area.
The incident has been reported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, and the suspect is reportedly known to law enforcement.
The thrown rock caused at least $8,000 in damages due to replacement costs, according to the business owners.
