Two Airlifted After 14 Freeway Crash, Traffic Impacted

Two patients were airlifted to the hospital Friday afternoon following a 14 Freeway crash.

Around 3:50 p.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce, said Charisma Murillo, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It came in as a four vehicle traffic collision,” Murillo said.

When crews arrived on scene they requested a helicopter to respond due to the nature of the injuries, according to Fire officials.

Two patients, one being in critical condition were airlifted to the hospital, according to Murillo.

California Highway Patrol, (CHP) officers briefly had all northbound lanes of the 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road closed to land the helicopter, however, the No. 3 and 4 lanes have been reopened, according to officials.

The No. 1 and 2 lanes are expected to remain blocked for an unknown amount of time while crews work to clear the wrecakage, according to CHP officials.
