Macy’s and Toys “R” Us have partnered up to bring back the retailer online and at select Macy’s locations after the widespread closure of Toys “R” Us stores, including in Santa Clarita.
Starting Thursday, shoppers can buy Toys “R” Us products online at both the Macy’s and Toys “R” Us websites, and in 2022 400 select Macy’s stores are set to have Toys “R” Us sections.
“Our partnership with Macy’s marks the greatly anticipated return of Toys “R” Us in the U.S.A., and changes the retail landscape by combining two beloved retail brands together for consumers across the nation in a completely innovative way,” said Yehuda Shmidman, chairman and CEO of WHP Global and Toys “R” Us. “We’re thrilled to be launching this new partnership together with Macy’s.”

The partnership comes after Toys “R” Us was acquired by WHP Global, a brand management firm.
In 2022, over 400 Macy’s stores are scheduled to have Toys “R” Us shop-in-shops, where customers are set to be welcomed by mascot Geoffry the Giraffe, Macy’s representatives said.
In the Toys “R” Us shops, there are slated to be sections divided by age and interests with interactive elements throughout, according to representatives.
In 2018, the Toys “R” Us in Santa Clarita, located next to the Stevenson Ranch Walmart, was shut down as part of a widespread closure of the stores nationwide.
It is unclear whether the Macy’s in Santa Clarita will have a Toys “R” Us shop-in-shop, as a list of locations with Toys “R” Us merchandise has not been released.
