A felony robbery suspect was arrested Saturday after he allegedly forcefully stole his girlfriend’s cell phone in front of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 23700 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia regarding a family disturbance call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported the victim’s boyfriend forcefully took her cellphone during a verbal argument in front of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station,” Arriaga said.

The woman entered the station lobby and reported the robbery to Sheriff’s personnel.
When deputies arrived, the suspect was detained pending further investigation.
“During investigation, deputies learned the suspect had two outstanding active warrants,” Arriaga said. “And confirmed during a verbal argument, the suspect forcefully grabbed the victim’s cell phone from her hand.”
Kelquin Smith, 31, from Palmdale, was arrested for felony robbery, Arriaga added.
Smith was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $150,000, according to arrest records.
