Santa Clarita Latino Business Alliance To Host First In-Person Forum This Month

The Santa Clarita Latino Business Alliance announced Friday an upcoming elected officials forum later this month, which is set to include three levels of elected Latino politicians representing Santa Clarita.

The forum is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20 at 4 p.m., making it the first in-person event for the Latino Business Alliance event since the pandemic, according to officials.

The event marks the first time the Santa Clarita Valley is represented by elected Latino leaders at each level of government simultaneously, with Congressman Mike Garcia, Assemblywoman Suzette Valladares and Mayor Bill Miranda all expected to be in attendance.

The event is expected to bring an opportunity for each representative to give an update on what is occurring in their office, provide insight on future plans and then have an opportunity for open discussion with the audience, according to officials.

“This event is in person,” officials said. “L.A. County has enforced an indoor mask mandate regardless of vaccination status. You will be required to wear a mask at all times while indoors.”

The event is in-person and space is limited. Attendees must RSVP with no walk-ins accepted.

The location where the forum is going to take place is set to be provided prior to the event, according to officials.

Attendees are encouraged to submit their questions ahead of time by emailing hello@scvchamber.com.
