Multiple Long-Term 210 Ramp Closures Announced For Late August, September

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced multiple ramp closures in order to conduct paving work on the 210 Freeway over a 45-day span beginning at the end of August.

The purpose of the closures is to allow work crews to pave the ramps and the far right lane, which is part of a multi-million dollar project targeted towards road repair, officials said.

“Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities,” Caltrans officials said.

The following ramp closures are scheduled to take at least 45 days:

  • Eastbound I-210 Wheatland Avenue on and off-ramps – Beginning Aug. 23
  • Eastbound Yarnell Street on and off-ramps – Beginning Aug. 30
  • Eastbound Polk Street on and off-ramps – Beginning Sept. 9

All closures are set to be weather permitting and subject to change according to Caltrans officials.

The work on I-210 is part of a $135.5 million project funded by Senate Bill 1 (SB1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

Overhead sign structures, traffic loop detectors, canter median barrier, and the guardrail system are also part of the upgrades being done by this project.

Drivers are encouraged to check traffic conditions before attempting to travel to their destination and continue to be “Work Zone Alert”.
