Santa Clarita Family And Child Center Installs Board Of Directors


The Child and Family Center of Santa Clarita installed its annual board of directors at their meeting Thursday. 

Senator Scott Wilk installed the new officers for the 2021-2022 fiscal year and two incoming board members. 

“The Family Center has deep roots in our community and has remained focused on the ever-changing needs of our region for more than four decades,” Wilk said.

Volunteer board members work to steer the organization by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as tracking resources.

The executive board members for the upcoming year are: Marc Winger, William Cooper, David Wong, Jennifer Lee, Staci Daniels-Sommers, Michael Berger, Aida Weinstein and Rick Garcia, Fred Arnold, Taylor Kellstrom, Jean LaCorte-Kiczek, Gloria Mercado-Fortine, Perry Smith and Steven Zimmer.

The Center has been providing services to the community since 1976, although this past year provided many challenges, the organization achieved significant accomplishments under the leadership of Joan Aschoff, PsyD, CEO and the Board of Directors.

“What we thought was going to be a short-term solution to the global pandemic has become our new way of providing services to our communities. With great flexibility and creativity our staff has learned and developed new skills and techniques for engaging our clients,” Aschoff said.
