A man was arrested at gunpoint Sunday after allegedly attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Canyon Country.
Around 1:50 p.m. Sunday, deputies received reports of a burglary on Silver Star Lane in Canyon Country, according to Lt. James Royal with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
While deputies were investigating the call, they located a man matching the suspect’s description outside of the home, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“He was a known suspect who had a domestic violence restraining order,” according to Royal.
With guns drawn, deputies took the 45-year-old suspect into custody where they learned that the homeowner had a restraining order against the suspect and former boyfriend, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“He was arrested for violation of a domestic violence restraining order,” Royal said.
No injuries were reported.
