A previously convicted felon was arrested and booked on over ten different charges in Santa Clarita after being found with narcotics and forgery contraband on Wednesday.
Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Special Assignment Team initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with code violations in Valencia, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
As deputies approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana and a visual of drugs on the male driver’s person, according to Arriaga.
As the driver was directed to exit the vehicle, deputies uncovered a large bag of pills protruding from his pocket, later confirmed to be Oxycodone pills, according to a statement from SCV Sheriff.

The small baggie of narcotics was located during the initial search of the suspect as well as a driver’s license and access cards not named to the suspect, officials said.
In the vehicle, deputies recovered an unserialized firearm, ammunition, mailbox keys, contraband used to manufacture forged keys, materials used to emboss credit cards and more, according to a statement from SCV Sheriff.
The driver, 39-year-old Adam Devarney, a previously convicted felon, was arrested for various charges, according to Arriaga.
Devarney was transported to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station with a bail set at $85,000, and later released Thursday afternoon on his own recognizance.
