The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder Dean C. Logan reminded California voters that voting centers in places like Santa Clarita for the state’s recall election of Governor Gavin Newsom are open.
“Vote Centers will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for safe in-person voting, or to return a completed Vote by Mail ballot,” the statement from Logan’s office reads. “These hours will extend to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Sept. 14.”

This summer, California Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis ordered the statewide election be held to determine whether to recall Governor Newsom and potentially elect a successor.
If during the election more than 50 percent of voters vote ‘yes’ to recall the governor, he is set to be removed from office and the candidate with the most votes would replace him.
Vote centers in places like Santa Clarita are reportedly instructed to follow current public health and safety guidelines due to COVID-19 concerns, according to officials.
The L.A. County Registrar-Recorder’s office states that the safest way to participate in this election is to either return the vote-by-mail ballot through mail (postage not required) or return one’s ballot at any participating vote center or ballot drop box.
