SCV Water Seeks Community Input On Identifying, Preparing For Natural Disasters In Santa Clarita

The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency, (SCV Water) is seeking community members to provide input on potential natural disaster concerns that face the City.

The community feedback is expected to assist SCV Water in developing a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), according to officials.

The LHMP is set to provide a comprehensive approach on how to proactively manage natural hazards and mitigate their impacts on SCV Water customers and the community.

“Keeping our customers’ water flowing during and after a disaster, is a top priority for our team,” said SCV Water General Manager Matt Stone. “We encourage our customers to share meaningful feedback that will help us better understand their concerns and identify strategies that will reduce the future impacts in the Santa Clarita Valley.”

The short, nine-question survey should take respondents less than five minutes to complete, according to officials.

The deadline for community input is Saturday, May 22.

Survey results are intended to inform development of the LHMP, and the draft plan is set to be released for public review and comment, after the SCV Water Board considers it for adoption.
