Santa Clarita Murder Suspect Pleads No Contest After Allegedly Stabbing Michelle Dorsey To Death

A Santa Clarita murder suspect who stabbed Michelle Dorsey, his estranged wife to death in April returned to court Monday.

James Matthew Dorsey, 42, returned to court Monday and pled no contest to all of the felony charges against him on an open plea after allegedly murdering his wife on April 15, said Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Dorsey faces one count each of first-degree murder, attempted kidnapping, home invasion, evading law enforcement and assault on a peace officer.

On April 15, Dorsey arrived at the house where his estranged wife and three sons were residing, according to officials.

It was reported that he broke into the house with the intent to kidnap and murder Michelle Dorsey, according to officials.

However, after a brief fight ensued between the two of them, James stabbed her multiple times.

Before Michelle died she informed investigators that her estranged husband was the one who stabbed her.

Dorsey’s three boys were in the house at the time of the murder but were not injured.

The three boys are now currently living with their aunt and grandmother.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dorsey on June 21, according to Santiago.
