Brush Fire In Santa Clarita Quickly Extinguished


A brush fire in Santa Clarita Wednesday was quickly extinguished.

The brush fire, dubbed the Rye Fire, was reported around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, on The Old Road near Rye Canyon Road in Valencia, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

As of 4:40 p.m. the Rye Fire has burned one-quarter of an acre with no structures threatened, according to Fire officials.

As of 4:50 p.m. crews have stopped forward progression of the fire.
