‘Substantial’ Amount Of Marijuana, Ecstasy Found In Suspect Vehicle In Canyon Country

A “substantial” amount of marijuana and ecstasy along with an unserialized firearm were found in a wanted suspect’s vehicle in Canyon Country Thursday.

Around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, deputies patrolling Soledad Canyon Road near Commuter Way in Canyon Country located a wanted vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

During a traffic stop, deputies detained the driver pending further investigation, according to Arriaga.

“A search of his car resulted in the recovery of a substantial amount of marijuana and ecstasy believed to be used in the commission of sales of narcotics, as well as a loaded unserialized firearm, among other contraband,” Arriaga said.

The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with a loaded firearm, possession of narcotics for sales, all felonies, among other charges, Arriaga added.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
