Two Airlifted After Rollover Gorman Crash On 5 Freeway

Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a Gorman crash Tuesday afternoon that sent one vehicle off of the I-5 Freeway.

At around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received a call for a vehicle that went off the 5 freeway near Gorman School Road, according to Henry Narvaez, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We know the copter left for unknown injuries,” Narvaez said.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found that the vehicle had overturned and fallen approximately 30 feet down an embankment after reportedly going airborne off the 5 freeway, according to traffic logs from the California Highway Patrol.

Despite initial reports of two female individuals being trapped in the vehicle, emergency responders discovered the two were not trapped when they arrived on scene.

Two people were airlifted to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries as a result of the crash, according to Fire officials.

The exact cause of the crash was not immediately known as of Tuesday afternoon.
