Santa Clarita Zonta Club Establishes Z Club At Golden Valley High

The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita chartered and plans to mentor the Z Club at Golden Valley High School, focusing on improving the lives of women and girls locally and internationally.

The Z Club at Golden Valley High School was established on Nov. 9, 2020, with each of the club board members receiving a package of Z Club t-shirts, face masks, patches, necklace charm and other Zonta merchandise.

The Z Club liaisons at Golden Valley include Sally Mostafa-Eisenreich, Shelley Coe, and Deb Escoe, who are expected to help mentor the club.

“Mentoring young leaders is particularly important to Zonta,” reads a statement issued by the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Tuesday.

Zonta International is a global organization consisting of more than 28,000 men and women in 1,100 Z Clubs in 62 countries. Zonta International aims at working towards achieving gender equality and preventing violence against women and girls worldwide.

According to Zonta, Z Clubs are established on secondary school campuses and are designed to provide opportunities for young adults to develop communication and leadership skills, explore careers, and increase international awareness and understanding through service.
