Waste Management To Resume Weekly Collection Of Green Waste Monday

Waste Management is notifying Santa Clarita customers that the weekly collection of green waste is scheduled to resume Monday, Feb. 1, City officials said.

The normal schedule for waste pickup switched from weekly to biweekly on Dec. 14. This change was initially extended and set to proceed until the week of Jan. 25th, officials said.

“We want to thank our customers in Santa Clarita whose patience and understanding were truly appreciated during the temporary change in collection,” said Josh Mann, a local representative for Waste Management.

The temporary service changes came as Waste Management’s staffing had been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional drivers had to be hired and trained to allow a smooth transition back to a normal service schedule.

With newly hired drivers and the anticipation of drivers returning from quarantine, Waste Management expects to return to normal levels of service beginning Feb.1, according to an official statement from the City of Santa Clarita.
