Stolen Vehicle Suspect Taken Into Custody In Canyon Country

A stolen vehicle suspect was taken into custody in Canyon Country Thursday afternoon.

Just before 1 p.m., a patrol deputy spotted a wanted stolen vehicle on Soledad Canyon Road near Ruether Drive in Canyon Country, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies requested immediate backup to their location before attempting to make a traffic stop but never initiated a pursuit, according to Sheriff’s officials.

By the time backup arrived, deputies conducted a felony traffic stop in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy on Soledad Canyon Road near Camp Plenty Road, Arriaga said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, according to Arriaga.
