One Hospitalized After Gorman Assault Call

Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are investigating a Gorman assault call that occurred near the 5 Freeway Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday around 5:30 p.m., CHP officers received a call near Smokey Bear Road off the 5 Freeway, for a possible assault call, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“Two males were holding the other male down,” Greengard said.

The CHP is currently investigating it as an assault with great bodily injury, according to Greengard.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and transported one patient to an area hospital, said Franklin Lopez, spokesperson for the Department.

The condition of the victim is currently unknown as of Wednesday morning, according to officials.

As of Wednesday morning, CHP officials were not able to confirm if any arrests have been made in connection with the assault.
