One person is outstanding in the investigation for the robbery of a backpack and a pair of sunglasses from Macy’s in Valencia, Sunday afternoon.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., reports were received of a young adult who robbed Macy’s, and fled on foot with at least a backpack and a pair of aviator style sunglasses, according to officials.
“What you had here was shoplifting a pair of shades and backpack from Macy’s,” said Lieutenant Royal with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “They tried to exit, security tried to stop, the suspect struggled and got away, last seen on foot (heading) toward McBean.”
The area surrounding the western half of Valencia Town Center was being searched as of 1:20 p.m. by units from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station.
“There was no weapon used, no one was held up, it was a shoplifting turned robbery because of the struggle,” Lt. Royal added.
