The popular CBS drama “NCIS” is expected to film near Main Street in Old Town Newhall this week.
On Friday, Dec. 4. from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., film crews are expected to be in the area of Main Street and Lyons Avenue impacting traffic.
The one lane of eastbound Lyons Avenue is set to be closed. Parking is also prohibited on the east side of Main Street from 9th Street to Lyons Avenue, from the north side of 9th Street to Railroad Avenue and Main Street, and from the north side of 9th Street to Main Street from Walnut Street.
Most cast and crew vehicles are scheduled to be off-site while equipment, cables, and production vehicles and some crew vehicles will reside in the parking structure. Filming is set to last a total of one day and include an exterior dialogue exchange, a foot chase scene through Newhall Crossings courtyard.

Filming comes as the City of Santa Clarita Film Office began issuing filming permits once again in June, after the COVID-19 pandemic halted filming and entertainment production for three months.
NCIS has regularly filmed in Santa Clarita, contributing to the city’s filming revenue.
“Filming is very important to our local economy,” said Evan Thomason, economic development associate for the Santa Clarita Film Office in a previous story. “That’s money that’s spent on stores, on equipment rentals, on location rentals,” Thomason said
Other television shows that have filmed in Santa Clarita in the last fiscal year include “Reno 911,” “Space Force,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Goldbergs,” and “S.W.A.T.”
