The College of the Canyons Athletic Department announced the launch of its 2020 Cougar Alumni & Friends Giving Campaign to support sports programs at the college on Tuesday.
The department coordinated the launch of the campaign with the global Giving Tuesday movement, which developed over the last several years as a response to the continued increases in participation Black Friday and Cyber Monday and calls on people to give back to their communities with donations to worthy causes across the county.
The college’s athletic department specifically issued a call to action to their network of alumni as well as supporters in the community to contribute to the initiative.
“All donations directly support the ongoing efforts of the COC Athletic Department and its 17 intercollegiate sports programs to create opportunities for current and future generations of Cougar student-athletes,” reads the COC Athletic Department’s release.
In addition to supporting on the field efforts, donations also assist the department in making tools and support services available to student-athletes to help keep them engaged and effective in the classroom.
The campaign was established through the college’s nonprofit organization, COC Foundation, and donations can be submitted through their website here.
When submitting an online donation to the campaign, donors are asked to designate their gift as “Cougar Club.”
Donations can also be submitted by contacting the COC Foundation Office via phone at (661) 362-3434, or by mail at: College of the Canyons Foundation, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
