Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested With Nearly A Dozen Pounds Of Narcotics, Over $50,000

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested an alleged drug dealer Tuesday, with deputies reportedly recovering nearly a dozen pounds of various narcotics and over $50,000.

On Tuesday, Narcotics Bureau deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station joined the station’s Juvenile Intervention Team (J-Team) in conducting a search warrant for a home in Sylmar after learning that a man living there was allegedly selling drugs to people in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“Our deputies are always here to make sure our community is safe not just from crime within our Valley, but from the effects of crime resulting from outside of the Santa Clarita Valley,” wrote Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the station, in an official post Thursday.

After arresting the alleged drug dealer, deputies were reportedly able to recover over 11 pounds of methamphetamine, along with a half-pound of cocaine and over $50,000.

In addition to various narcotics charges, the man was also arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, Arriaga added.

The man was transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Jail.  Officials were unable to release his identity due to the ongoing nature of their investigation,
