Santa Clarita Man Identified As Person Killed In Lost Canyon RV Crash

An 80-year-old Santa Clarita man was identified by authorities Tuesday as the person killed in a Monday morning RV crash.

Gordon Harry McGuff, an 80-year-old resident of Santa Clarita, has been identified as the person killed in a fatal crash that sent an RV into the Santa Clara Riverbed on Monday, according to Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Coroner-Medical Examiner’s Office.

McGuff was killed when the Bounder RV he was travelling in went off the roadway at a roundabout intersection of Jakes Way and Lost Canyon Road, and careened into the dry Santa Clara River, crashing onto boulders in the riverbank,

“An RV drove over a curb into the Santa Clara River,” said Sean Ferguson, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department at the time.

McGuff was later pronounced dead at the scene, and a postmortem examination is pending, according to Ardalani.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
