Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Host Event To Thank First Responders

On Tuesday, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is set to host an event to thank first responders for their part in the success of the hospital’s stroke center.

For the last two years the center has begun performing thrombectomy, a minimally invasive blood clot retrieva to restore blood flow to the brain. Since it’s opening 174 procedures have been performed, which is the most out of any other hospital stroke center in Los Angeles.

Part of the center’s success comes from the Los Angeles city and L.A. County fire department paramedics who assist in stroke aid.

“Based on their assessments, they can bypass other hospitals to get patients to the stroke experts here at Providence Holy Cross,” said a press release from Providence Holy Cross.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving the hospital plans to host an acknowledgement of this partnership, with doctors, nurses, and patients thanking paramedics and telling their stories.

The event is set to occur at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center outside the Emergency Center.
