Several inmates from the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic were hospitalized Friday afternoon due to medical emergencies.
At 2:30 p.m. Friday, emergency responders begin receiving reports of multiple medical emergencies at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Public Information Officer Jonathan Matheny.
“All individuals are being transported to the hospital,” Matheny said.
At least four patients had been identified and were being transported to the hospital, according to Matheny.

The nature of the medical emergencies was unavailable as of Friday afternoon, however, the detention center has been plagued by a rash of overdoses in recent months.
On Monday, six overdose patients were transported to the hospital from the jail, according to officials.
