Metrolink Antelope Valley Line Construction To Temporarily Affect Commuter Travel Through Santa Clarita

The Antelope Valley Line between Newhall and Lancaster is expected to be closed next weekend as Metrolink completes a maintenance and rehabilitation project along the tracks.

On Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7, Metrolink is scheduled to complete a maintenance project across the Antelope Valley Line and is temporarily closing the tracks between Newhall and Lancaster, according to Metrolink officials.

Santa Clarita commuters travelling to the Lancaster area are expected to be provided alternate bus services during the construction, while the Antelope Valley Line remains open for operation between Newhall and Los Angeles.

Facial coverings continue being required at all Metrolink stations, aboard trains and on buses used for alternate transportation, according to Metrolink officials.

Commuters with Metrolink tickets for Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 are able to be transported by bus during their selected time at the following locations:

  • Metrolink Newhall Station: 24300 Railroad Ave., Santa Clarita, CA 91321
  • Metrolink Santa Clarita Station: 22122 Soledad Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91350
  • Metrolink Via Princessa: 19201 Via Princessa, Santa Clarita, CA 91351
  • Metrolink Vincent Grade/Acton Station:   The buses will pull into the parking lot located at: 730 W. Sierra Hwy., Acton CA 93550
  • Metrolink Palmdale Station: 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Drive., Palmdale, CA 93550
  • Metrolink Lancaster Station: 44812 N. Sierra Highway, Lancaster, CA 93534

No extra ticket is required to ride the bus. Bus drivers are able to accept the Metrolink tickets as payment, according to Metrolink officials.

Metrolink is working to provide sufficient staff at all stations next weekend to aid in the construction process and help commuters navigate their trips, according to a statement from Metrolink.

Due to traffic on the roads, Metrolink officials are asking passengers to be understanding of their time frames as “the buses will take the fastest, safest route available, however due to traffic we can experience service delays from 30-90 minutes. Buses cannot travel the distance from Lancaster to Vincent Grade/Acton as fast as a train.”
