2021 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile Odds: Silver State Dominates, Code Of Honor Returns

The horse racing community is set to experience another thrilling season of the Breeders’ Cup in the next few weeks. On November 5 and 6, all the toughest racehorses will travel to Del Mar, California, to vie for the Breeders’ Cup. The challenge will come in fifteen brackets, with the Breeders’ Cup Classic as the main event.

Aside from the main showdown, the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile is one category every horse racing enthusiast looks forward to witnessing. Established in 2007,  the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile became part of the challenge to invite horses that are three years old and up competing at a one-mile dirt track.

Last year, Brad Cox’s Knicks Go won this category, who’s moving up to the Classic bracket this year. Today, another batch of horses is looking for their fate in the Dirt Mile to boost their form. That said, let us know some of the racehorses who are also the frontrunners for the breeders cup turf.

Silver State

The sire of Hard Spun is reigning supreme in the odds for the Breeders’ Dirt Mile. Silver State, hailed as the runner-up for the Parx Dirt Mile Stakes, is not going anywhere but to Del Mar this November. Although he fell short at the Whitney Stakes, landing in third place, he had already established his form after winning races at Oaklawn Stakes and Fifth Season Stakes.

Mind Control

Like what his name means, Mind Control is in the right momentum to conquer the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile this year. He’s probably one of the entries who got a well-established form. He competed in five racing games this year and earned two championship cups from Parx Dirt Mile Stakes and John A. Nerud Stakes.

Restrainedvengence

An entry by Val Brinkerhoff and Edwin A. Maldonado, Restrainedvengence got the most experience in horse racing.  Since birth, he has made thirty-four racing games and is looking to add that in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. Some of his remarkable finishes are Downs at Albuquerque Handicap (1st), American Stakes (1st), Santana Mile Stakes (2nd), San Francisco Mile Stakes (3rd), and Shoemaker Mile Stakes (3rd).

C Z Rocket

Another horse to keep an eye on is C Z Rocket. He made twenty-eight racing games since birth and secured eleven titles. Last month, he played at the Pat O’ Brein Stakes and landed in 2nd place. Furthermore, he acquired major placements from top races such as Bing Crosby Stakes (3rd), Steve Sexton Mile Stakes (2nd), Count Fleet Sprint Handicap (1st), and Hot Springs Stakes (1st).

By My Standards

By  My Standards attended the Breeders’ Cup Classic last year but only landed in 8th place. So today, he goes back to the same show, joining the Dirt Mile line-up. Before earning his passport to the said category, By My Standards have conquered the Oaklawn Mile Stakes while placing significantly at  Whitney Stakes (5th) and Hill ‘N’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap (2nd).

Ginobili

Ginobili successfully brought home the bacon at the Pat O’ Brein Stakes held last August at Del Mar. Today, he is returning to the same racetrack to compete for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. Last year, he also made outstanding finishes like the San Vicente Stakes (2nd), Speakeasy Stakes (4th), and Del Mar Futurity (4th).

Life Is Good

Unlike the racehorses above, Life Is Good got fewer accomplishments in his racing form, but most were victories. Last week, he joined the Kelso Handicap held at Belmont Park and won. Apart from that, he sealed titles from San Felipe Stakes and Sham Stakes while earning 2nd place at H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes.

Flagstaff

Earlier this year, Flagstaff won the Commonwealth Stakes and Churchill Downs Stakes, which gave him a reason to earn a trip at the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. Besides, he also tried his luck in many races to establish his form and placed exceptionally well in the Pat O’  Brein Stakes (3rd), True North Stakes (2nd), Hot Spring Stakes (3rd), and King Cotton Stakes (4th).

Code Of Honor

In 2019, Code of Honor landed in 7th place at the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Today, he returns to the competition vying for the Dirt Mile title. In 2020, he made several placements such as Kelso Handicap (2nd), Whitney Stakes (4th), and Westchester Stakes (1st). This year, he competed in two races: the Pegasus World Cup (5th) and Philip H. Iselin  Stakes (1st).

Magic On Top

Placing fourth at the Californian Stakes, Magic On Top bounced back at the Triple Bend Stakes earning the title. With this, he decided to run for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.  Before he ran this November, Magic On Top had established his form gaining few placements at Los Alamitos Special Stakes (4th), Pacific Classic Stakes (9th), and San Diego Handicap (5th).

Final Thoughts

It’s not a surprise that the Breeders’ Cup Challenge is attended by the greatest racehorses every year. In the Dirt Mile category, the entries above are looking for another victory to strengthen their form. Make sure to get guided with these horses to find the laudable entry to bet on.
