Narcotics, Loaded Firearm Located In Car Of Convicted Felon

Deputies with the Crime Impact Team (CIT) detained a convicted felon and his girlfriend Wednesday for possession of narcotics and an illegal weapon, after the man was allegedly seen drinking near a Santa Clarita hotel.

On Wednesday around 12 p.m., deputies with the CIT conducting patrol checks of hotels within Stevenson Ranch observed an adult male consuming alcohol alongside his vehicle, said Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in a Facebook post.

After getting a closer look at the situation, deputies found a visible firearm on the floorboard of the man’s car, according to Arriaga.

In response to seeing the firearm, deputies detained him and after a search of the vehicle, they recovered the loaded firearm, along with narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

The man was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, among several other charges found after his encounter with deputies.

Additionally, during their investigation, deputies contacted the suspect’s girlfriend and found her in possession of narcotics, according to Arriaga

She was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s jail.
