A heat advisory and “critical fire warning” has been issued through Tuesday as triple-digit temperatures return to the Santa Clarita weather forecast.
Starting Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday, a heat advisory is in effect for the Santa Clarita Valley, said David Gomberg, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
“We can see temperatures from 103 to 105 in Santa Clarita,” Gomberg said.
Low humidity levels and gusty winds are also in the forecast, resulting in elevated to critical fire conditions for the Santa Clarita Valley.
“We have a combination of hot temperatures with humidity levels in single digits and gusty winds,” Gomberg said.
All Santa Clarita libraries are open to the general public during regular business hours to be utilized as a cooling center, according to officials.
Starting Friday through the weekend, a cooling trend is expected with temperatures dipping down to the low 90s during the day, and mid-60s at night, according to officials.
