According to the U.S. Census, there are over 69,000 households living in Santa Clarita, but with the population expanding, there is always a need for new housing to be built. The city has now become the third largest city within Los Angeles County. In 2021 there are many new developments springing up in and around Santa Clarita, with homes for all budgets. These new communities are bringing diversity to the city and providing quality homes to the next generation of families.
Skyline by Tri Pointe and Pardee Homes
The new Skyline community is a brand new development of homes built right on the edge of the Plum Canyon. Many of the homes have been built for the average family, with sustainability in mind. Throughout California, the cost of building and construction can change, and Skyline has a focus on affordability. For instance a plumber in Newport Beach, CA may charge different rates if the plumbing work is complex. Plumbers are dealing with installation and repairs in houses averaging more than $1,000,000. The average home in Santa Clarita is $250,000 less than this, and the cost of plumbing and electric installation is less. This helps to make housing more affordable. Skyline already has several neighborhoods that are now complete, and there are future neighborhoods already being built.
The Aliento Project
The Aliento housing project is still in progress on the east side of the 14 freeway. There are five distinct and different neighborhoods being built including the Verano 55+ neighborhood, which is exclusively for residents aged 55 and over. In this neighborhood there are private amenities for active adults. The Aliento project should reach its completion in the next year, but many houses have already been sold and several properties were recently featured on HGTV’s Rock The Block.
The Highlands Development
Highlands is a new development that is being built at the top edge of Tesoro Del Valle. There will be approximately 820 homes on 1270 acres of land, with 360 of these homes specifically for the over 55 community. The developers hope to create a village-like feel at Highlands, making the most of the beautiful hillsides and valleys.
The population in Santa Clarita is increasing every year. The new housing developments are providing the next generation with homes and stability in and around the city.
