Hart District Board To Discuss Procedures For New School Year At Next Meeting

William S. Union Hart High School District is scheduled to have a regular meeting on Wednesday, where they are expected to share plans and expectations for the 2021-2022 upcoming school year.

The board is expected to discuss what the new school year will look like in terms of COVID-19 safety protocols.

Recent debate has revolved especially around masking in schools and whether or not it will be required from students and staff, as well as social distancing. As of now in L.A. County masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination status.

According to the board’s agenda, Superintendent Mike Kuhlman is expected to speak on the returning to school update with “staff sharing information on the beginning of the 2021/22 school year.”

In addition to this update, the board is also expected to discuss updates on a Safety Film and Security camera project that involves installing shatter-resistant film to almost 25,000 square feet of windows around the District and 192 security cameras to school sites and District office areas.

Residents are welcome to give public comments at the start of the meeting. If the comments subject matter pertains to one of the subjects in the board’s agenda, people can complete a Request to Address the Board form and return it to the Secretary to the Board prior to the meeting.

No actions will be taken on items not on the agenda, even if discussed in public comments.
