A Clovis caretaker was arrested on over ten charges in Santa Clarita on Wednesday, after a traffic stop uncovered methamphetamine and identity theft contraband.
On Wednesday, deputies patrolling the 25000 block of the Old Road in Stevenson Ranch initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
“As they contacted the single female occupant, they learned she was the registered owner of the vehicle and on probation and possessed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle,” Arriaga said.
Deputies located two baggies of methamphetamine on her person, according to Arriaga.
An inspection of the woman’s vehicle resulted in the recovery of various counterfeit credit cards, a checkbook not named to her, numerous access cards not named to her, keys to numerous vehicles and additional contraband, according to Arriaga.
The suspect, 37-year-old Corrin Gale from Clovis was arrested and booked for felony counts of identity theft, identity theft with prior convictions, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of blank checks with intent to defraud, forge/make/use of access card to defraud, use expired/forged/revoked access card, possession of forged access cards and forgery counterfeit public/government seal.
She was also arrested for misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gale claims to be a caretaker, however, it is unclear if her clients were victims, according to Arriaga.
Gale was transported to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station with a bail set at $236,750, according to Arriaga.
