California Gubernatorial Candidate Kevin Faulconer Tour To Pass Through Santa Clarita

Campaigning to become California’s next Governor in the upcoming recall election, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer is scheduled to make a stop in Santa Clarita on Saturday as part of his California Comeback Bus Tour.

Hoping to restore “California’s promise of freedom, equality and opportunity,” Faulconer has put together the California Comeback Tour to meet with California residents and is expected to stop in Santa Clarita at Black Bear Diner on Saturday, according to Faulconer.

“What happened to the promise of California? On Gavin Newsom’s watch our schools are failing, homelessness is skyrocketing, small businesses are closing, and jobs are disappearing,” according to a statement on Faulconer’s website.  “His broken promises have become our problems.”

“I know we can restore California’s promise of freedom, equality, and opportunity,” Faulconer said on his website. “That’s our promise. That’s the California comeback.”

If elected, Faulconer intends to:

Faulconer has firsthand seen his children’s education upended by the lack of leadership from the Governor’s office on public schooling and his wife’s small business hurt by the pandemic. If elected, he intends to “work for us and restore balance to the state,” according to campaign materials.

As a previous “big city” Republican mayor, Faulconer became known for bringing California’s second-largest city back from the brink of bankruptcy after being rocked by a corrupt mayor, according to Faulconer’s website.

To learn more about Faulconer’s story and his intentions as Governor, stop by Santa Clarita’s Black Bear Diner at 23626 Valencia Boulevard on Saturday, August 28.

Faulconer, as well as Senate Republican Leader Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, and Assemblywoman Suzzette Valladares, R-Santa Clarita, are scheduled to meet any Santa Clarita residents who stop by between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
