Traffic on the northbound 5 Freeway was temporarily blocked Sunday afternoon as firefighters quickly extinguished a brush fire just north of Santa Clarita.
Around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, emergency responders received reports of a brush fire on the roadside near northbound 5 Freeway Exit 183 near Templin Highway just north of Santa Clarita, according to Bernard Peters, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they noticed a small spot fire on the roadside of the northbound I-5, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Information Logs.
Exit 183 on the northbound 5 Freeway was temporarily blocked for an unknown duration as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, according to CHP.
No injuries have been reported.
The fire had been completely knocked down within 20 minutes of the first report, according to the CHP Information Logs.
