A convicted felon was arrested Wednesday morning, during a probation check after he was found in possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics in Santa Clarita.
On Wednesday Juvenile Intervention Team, (J-Team) deputies conducted several probation compliance searches resulting in several arrests for violations throughout Santa Clarita, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
One of the probation checks deputies conducted occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Bates Place in Stevenson Ranch, Arriaga said.
Deputies contacted a previously convicted felon, who was found to be in possession of anabolic steroids, oxycodone, cocaine base, contraband used to package the narcotics and a firearm, according to Arriaga.
Daniel Prutting, 37, from Stevenson Ranch, was ultimately arrested on several felony charges including a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance for sales, Arriaga added.
Prutting was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $0, according to arrest records.
