Man Arrested After Attempting To Assault Brother During Verbal Argument In Santa Clarita

A man was arrested on a slew of felonies Wednesday after he allegedly threatened his brother and threw items at a store employee in Santa Clarita.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to the 27600 block of Camino Del Lago in Castaic regarding a family disturbance call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned during a verbal dispute, the suspect vandalized the home and made verbal threats against his brother, while attempting to physically assault him with objects inside the home,” Arriaga said.

The suspect had left the location prior to deputies arrival, but returned a short period later, according to officials.

“During investigation, deputies were additionally informed the suspect had entered a business on the 27600 block of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic and stole several items, as well as threw items at an employee,” Arriaga said.

German Hernandez, 27, from Castaic, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, both felonies and petty theft, a misdemeanor, Arriaga added.

Hernandez was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $70,000, according to arrest records.
