I-5 Santa Clarita Crash Involving Bus Blocks Lanes, SigAlert Issued

An I-5 Freeway crash in Santa Clarita involving a bus left several lanes blocked by a SigAlert Sunday morning.

Around 7:40 a.m. Sunday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a transit bus and another vehicle on the southbound side of the freeway near Gavin Canyon, which sits between Calgrove Boulevard and the Newhall Pass interchange, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department representative.

“There were two patients with minor injuries,” said the LACoFD official.

LACoFd officials were unable to confirm if any persons had been transported to the hospital as of 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

A SigAlert has been issued for the No. 4 and 5 lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway for at least one hour, according to the California Highway Patrol incident logs.
