The Tumbleweed Fire in Gorman just north of Santa Clarita, grew to over 1,000 acres in size over the weekend and was 65 percent contained as of Tuesday morning.
First reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the Tumbleweed Fire started near the southbound 5 Freeway and Gorman Road in Gorman just north of Santa Clarita, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Captain Ron Haralson at the time.

The fire grew to over 200 acres within an hour, prompting evacuations of the nearby Hungry Valley Recreation Area, according to Fire officials.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries due to the Tumbleweed Fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to officials.
