Firefighter Killed In Agua Dulce Fire Station Shooting North Of Santa Clarita Identified

The firefighter killed in an Agua Dulce Fire Station shooting north of Santa Clarita has been identified by family members.

Tory Carlon, 44, was killed in the shooting, said Larry Carlon, the father of the victim.

“Today we lost our beautiful son, Tory Carlon, 21 year L.A. County Firefighter Specialist to a crazed Fire Department worker,” Larry said in a Facebook post.

Around 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a shooting at Fire Station 81 in Agua Dulce in the 8700 block of Sierra Highway, said Daryl Osby, the chief of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

A suspect, who was an off-duty firefighter at Station 81, came back to the station where he fatally shot Tory and injured the captain of the fire station, according to officials.

Shortly after the shooting a fire was reported at a residence in the 2600 block of Bent Spur Drive in Acton, which was linked to the suspect’s vehicle, according to Osby.

After Sheriff’s deputies deemed the area safe, firefighters made access to the structure, and found a man, believed to have been the suspect, in a pool with a self-inflicted gunshot, according to Sheriff’s officials.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the captain is in critical but stable condition, according to officials.

The reason for the shooting is still unknown.

“His family will never be able to replace him, and we enjoyed his life of 44 years,” Larry said about his son. “May he RIP forever in God’s Hands.”
